What is this?

Introducing How Ate You?, a Substack by long distance best friends, Sara and Sabrina, who stay in touch through their joint love for all things food. 

Over 12 years, the glue of our friendship has been food: cooking it, talking about it, sharing pictures of it. We don’t ask each other, “How are you doing?” — we’d rather start with, “What did you eat this week?” We communicate about our lives through poorly-lit pictures of the weird but awesome soup we threw together from the fridge, retelling of a strange dinner party we went to, absurd AI generated foods pics and recipes, or an ungodly but maybe genius ice cream flavor we’ve come up with. Hence - “How Ate You?” (*Are), inspired by our most common question to each other and our years and years of texts

.Sara lives in London and Sabrina in New York - two awesome food cities. Neither of them work in food but they both think about it constantly. On alternating weeks, publishing on Mondays, we’ll write each other a letter about something food based we need the other to know. There will musings, recipes, guides, memories, reviews, and maybe a few inside jokes. Don’t worry, we’ll clue you in.
